It’s established that Maharana Mewar Public School is not just about nurturing the children’s academic panorama but also to let them evolve their personalities. Be it sports, arts or communications. And August 2013 proved to be quite a wholesome for the children at MMPS with dust still settling down after the exciting month.   Here’s a glimpse of what happened last month that kept the students busy all along:

Let the music play

An Inter-house Solo and Group Dance Competition on 24th August for the junior and senior kids. The competition posed to be a great platform for the children to come together as team-players and get a hands on experience of the culture of India and Mewar in particular.

On the pitch

The multi-faceted children at MMPS had just got off the stage and on to the cricket ground on 26th. And MMPS plays to win! An inter-city cricket tournament (U-19) organized by Government Secondary School, Bholapura, between 26th and 29th August was won by MMPS cricket team.

Dipped in colour

When the entire Rajasthan is soaked in drastic colours, how can MMPS stay behind? Inter-house Pot Painting Competition held on August 30 at Maharana Mewar Public School’s Art School got was quite a success. The children immensely enjoyed a colorful break and came up with unbelievable creations!

What’s the brain quotient?

The 3rd CBSE TERI GREEN Olympiad 2013 was conducted at Maharana Mewar Public School on August 31, 2013 in which 88 students appeared. A brain racking event that the children happily participated in and really pulled up their socks for.

Lights. Camera. Action!

On the same day, 31st of August was held an Inter-House English Dramatics Competition at the School Open Auditorium. This was a welcome refreshment after the challenging Olympiad and made the children participate in numbers. Mr. Vilas Janve, Field Officer, Centre for Cultural Resource and Training, Udaipur and Mr. Deepak Joshi, Programme officer, West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur were the Judges for the competition.

It’s unstoppable! The school’s drive to take Mewar’s budding youth of tomorrow on a global platform is taking them places. Or should we say, it’s bringing the world to them.

Not too long back, Mr. Jeff Mazzini, Managing Director of Australasian Academy of Mentoring and Coaching, Balcatta, Western Australia along with Mr. Ravi Subraman and Ms Raj Lakshmi visited the school. Received by the principal and escorted by the heads of the School Students Council, they absorbed the culture of the school along with the activities, facilities and infrastructure. They introduced the Australian Vocational Educational Courses to the teaching staff and students.

A friendly chat with the school kids later climaxed into Mr. Ravi Subraman acknowledging, "At the very outset we would like to place on record our appreciation for the honour accorded to us by your students and our sincere thanks for your hospitality showered on us during our visit to your institution in Udaipur. Your teachers too deserve a round of applause for their effort in bringing out the best in every child. It was outstanding and most impressive."

Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur, Trustee - Vidyadan Trust, believes, “Every little step brings the school kids closer to the world that is calling them with both arms open! We at MMPS will act as mere vehicles to get these kids to where they belong.”
