The Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, Udaipur

24. February 2012 10:00 by Dr. Mayank Gupta in Charities

The Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation was established in 1969, to encourage all forms of education, music, the arts and culture as well as preserving tradition, heritage and ecology. The Foundation was planned as a means of protecting, honouring and preserving the duties of custodianship. In today's India, sovereignty such as in Mewar has been summarily disposed and replaced by custodianship. These charities may not be mandatory, but they are a visible and a verifiable expression to care for the well being of the people of Mewar.
