One of the royal guests at the Ashwa Poojan ceremony in Udaipur this year was the editor of ET Travel, Nimisha Tiwari. When she got back, she presented her experience of Dussehra, Ashwa Poojan, and her interaction with the royal family in a beautiful article, published in the Editor’s Pick section.

On the 11th of September, two really special guests were welcomed at the Zenana Mahal of City Palace, Udaipur. Mr. Ronald Ries, Mayor of the city of Strasbourg and Minja Yang, Senator of Bas-Rhin, were as pleased to take an elaborate tour of the City Palace Museum as the living palace was to have them amidst. Moved by the stories of bravery, the dedicated custodians and their laudable rule and the gifted heritage, they sat to pen down what they felt. The gallery at the City Palace has sure been spreading its silvery charisma over its visitors since the launch. A repository of the much cherished artefacts and items of use from the royal house of Mewar, the Splendour of Silver is a vivid example of art, luxury and preservation. It also houses the religious items carved out in silver that were used to honour the deity at the Shree Eklingnath ji Temple.
